configure

Anna's instructions were perfect--down to the last tiny capacitor. It was relatively easy to disassemble the system unit of their old mac--not like the new iMac, which would have required opening the bright plastic somehow. But the old Power Computing box came apart easily. The cards were right where Anna said they would be.

Amy turned the cards, making sure the fingers fit properly into their sockets. With an exacto knife, she cut the traces Anna had told her to, changing the copper patterns on the solder side of the main board.

Fit everything back together. Booted up the computer. Turned it on and reconfigured the communications. Opened up Netscape using Anna's identity and password. Typed in the URL.

Everything was ready.
